The course will also introduce data manipulation and cleaning techniques using the popular python pandas data science library and introduce the abstraction of the DataFrame as the central data structure for data analysis. The course will end with a statistics primer, showing how various statistical measures can be applied to pandas DataFrames. By the end of the course, students will be able to take tabular data, clean it, manipulate it, and run basic inferential statistical analyses.

    Applied Data Science with Python

    Specialization - University of Michigan (on Coursera)

    In 2017 I started with the Coursera specialization 'Applied Data Science with Python', created by the University of Michigan. In this specialization I'll learn to apply Data Science using Python. This specialization consists of verious courses.

    1. Introduction to Data Science in Python

    2. Applied Plotting, Charting & Data Representation in Python
    This course will introduce the learner to information visualization basics, with a focus on reporting and charting using the matplotlib library.

    This course will introduce the learner to applied machine learning, focusing more on the techniques and methods than on the statistics behind these methods.

    4. Applied Text Mining in Python
    This course will introduce the learner to text mining and text manipulation basics.

    Data Science

    Minor - University of Applied Sciences of Rotterdam

    Statistics in R (Grade: 8.2)
    In the first course I learned how to use different statistical models to describe data. I used R to apply these models on various data sets.

    Data Visualization (Grade: 9.1)
    In the second course I learned about the right techniques for the visualization of data. We discussed about opinions and researches on data visualization of well-know researchers like Hans Rosling and David McCandless.

    Data Mining (Grade: 8.0)
    During the data mining course I was asked to create three algoritms that are used in Data Science. I desided to create the Naive Bayes and the Decision Tree algoritms for classification, and DBScan for clustering data. I built these algoritms in Python.

    Ethics & Security (Grade: 9.0)
    In the fourth course of my Minor in Data Science we where asked to perform a research on a given subject. Together with a classmate, I did my research on the advantages and disadvantages of using Crypto-Pan for IP-anonymization.

    Final Project (Grade: 8.0)
    In this Minor we where asked to come up with, and execute our own Data Science projects. Together with my projectteam we created a web application that recommendates movies to it's users. Using this application we compared the results of different algoritms using the same user rating data as it's input.

    Internship at Agri Information Partners (Final)

    In the last year of my bachelor Business IT & Management I started a internship at Agri Information Partners in Wageningen. Agri Information Partner is a company that creates software for the plant breeding industry.

    During this internship I worked on a project within the development team designing a Business Intelligence solution for E-Brida. This solution gives the user the ability to monitor their breeding processes (and results) and use this as a decision support system for their breeding strategy.

    In the third year of my bachelor Business IT & Management I started a internship at Planon in Nijmegen. Planon is a company that creates software for Real Estate -, Space & Workplace -, Maintenance -, Integrated Services - and Sustainability Management.

    During this internship I worked on projects within the Tailor Made Software team for companies like ING (Dutch bank), PostNL and Vinci.

    Information System NEN3140 Certificering for Rent-All

    At the last semester of the second year I participated in a project where we build an information system for the company Rent-All. This system provided functionality for storing and sharing NEN2140 certificates within this company an its customers.

    My responsibilities during this project where:

    • Finding and maintaining requirements based on input from customer.
    • Managing the project using the SCRUM software development framework.
    • Creating database model based on the (Use Case) functional design.

    At NCOD, I'm primarily responsible for performing different tasks on maintaining (and upgrading) their IT-Infrastructure.
    Lately, I worked on a project where we migrated all company data from a on-premise infrastructure to Office365.

    I am/was responsible for executing the following tasks:

    • Migration of files from a fileshare on a physical server to SharePoint (Office 365).

    • Migration of personal files from a fileshare on a physical server to OneDrive (Office 365).

    • Creating managementdashboards in PowerBi (Office 365).

    • Configuring (new) company laptops.

    • Unroll and manage software remotely (with Panda Cloud Systems Management).

    • Creating a room booking system with Raspberry Pi in PHP using Microsoft Outlook API.
